The Pig & Whistle is a British-themed tavern and a developing community-focused artists’ hub that showcases quality live performances and arts activities in multiple unique spaces in a relaxed and picturesque setting on the Mornington Peninsula. Consisting of the Cellar Bar or Barn, The Shed Theatre and large outdoor grass filled lawns, The Pig & Whistle has a variety of spaces for all types of activities.

It’s great to be grateful, bring written word or come along and listen.

Every Second Thursday Night commencing Thursday June 2nd 2022 in the Cellar Door, we will be hosting a cozy night of poetry.

Come along and share your poetry and connect with other people.
The fire will be burning. The ambience will be warm. The bar will be open.

 

2 Hour Pottery Workshop

Rogue Potters are running a Xmas Decorations – 2 hour Workshop. Create and take home up to 10 hand-made ceramic Xmas decorations as you sip on hot beverages, nibble on some delicious morning tea in our cosy arts hub. Includes clay, glazing, firing & morning tea. Places are limited.

Rock School & Choir - Apply Now!
April 19th - 22nd
10am-5pm

Expressions of Interest now open for participants. 

We encourage applications from those who identify with a disability and/or require therapeutic support from an OT or Speech Pathologist to be able to sing with a rock band. 

Choir is FREE for all.

NDIS funding welcome for Rock School – some grant funding also available. Details upon request.

Rock School

This is an opportunity to learn to sing with a Rock Band and perform at a gig as part of the Mornington Peninsula Creative Festival at The Shed – Pig & Whistle. All participants should be available for all dates on this 3 day program and be prepared to sing on stage with a band and an audience for the final performance.

This is a therapist run, music-focused program which supports social inclusion, participation, management of performance anxiety and accessibility where barriers may be due to, physical, psychological, sensory or intellectual challenges and/or disability. You can use NDIS therapy and support worker funding as we have therapy outcome measures for the program. You must be available for ALL dates Wednesday 20th April 10-3, Thursday 21st April 10-3 and Friday 22nd April 10-3.

 

If the participant is not successful in getting into the Rock School Program where places are limited, they will be invited to join the FREE all abilities choir who will also be singing at the performance. 

Southern Peninsula Choir Open Rehearsal
Thursday April 21st
5-6pm

The Shed Theatre at The Pig & Whistle is not only an amazing performance space for entertainers and original artists, it’s also a place to meet, rehearse, create, collaborate and inspire.

As part of The Mornington Peninsula’s Arts & Culture Festival, ‘DRIFT’, Southern Peninsula Choir will be opening the doors to one of their rehearsals. 

This is a FREE event.

Directed by the famous Antony Ransome, this 4 part choir will be rehearsing 5 centuries of classical songs. Come and listen and find out more about the choir and their up and coming performances. 

The Shed Theatre is a safe place for all to visit.

Rogue Pottery Workshops
Thursday April 28th
1pm-4pm (2 sessions)

3 local Peninsula potters came together to create and collaborate through mud. The strong friendship bond is held together with clay as we meet each week to share our tips and tricks. From here we spend every spare moment creating ceramic treasures for your home or garden. We currently sell our wares at the Dromana Indoor Market (open 7 days/week) and are also open to custom orders. Join the Rogue Potters for a one-hour pottery workshop at as part of the Peninsula’s Drift Festival.

Elusive Creative - Live Sound Workshops
Wednesday April 27th
10am-4pm

This workshop is for those who want to get straight into a live music venue and learn what goes on behind the scenes. The introductory lesson is all about getting the basics right. We’ll guide you through PA system setup, system tuning, basic microphone techniques & pulling a mix for a solo acoustic performance. 6 spaces available. Lunch Included. 18+
