Teaming up with long-time collaborator and friend Andy Baldwin – whose credits include the likes of Björk, Elle King, Cat Empire, and Morceeba – ‘River Queen’ marks the dawn of a new era for Frasca. In her own words, “The first song from the forthcoming album is really special to me. ‘River Queen’ was written while on a camping trip in the bush around Briagolong in regional Victoria during the summer of 2022. It’s a raw, soulful ode to life, nature, acceptance, and the power of living in the present moment. I’ve been blown away by the incredible response so far at live shows, it’s so exciting!!”
Reflecting on her journey as a solo artist, Frasca enthuses, “This has been an immensely profound experience for me, and I’m psyched to share my first offerings as a solo artist. I’ve been in an amazing cocoon for some time reconnecting with myself and the music I love, I’m thrilled to unleash these fresh tunes and embark on this new creative odyssey.”
With a decorated career that includes a Top 10 ARIA charting album, Artist of the Year at the Independent Music Awards, a recent finalist in the inaugural Australian Women in Music Awards, and global performances alongside music legends like Patti Smith and Midnight Oil, Frasca is a force to be reckoned with. Endorsed by none other than Guns ’n’ Roses icon Slash himself, who praised her “Great vocals, riffs and grooves” , her music is a testament to an unparalleled talent and unwavering passion.
Fans can expect a blend of old favourites and new gems from her upcoming album when she takes to the stage in 2024. Her new solo album is expected out in July 2024.
Get on board and witness the rise of Dallas Frasca as she reignites the flames of rock ‘n’ roll with her ‘River Queen’ tour. It’s a voyage you won’t want to miss!

OPELOUSAS
FRIDAY APRIL 12TH
8PM

Head out on the highway of your mind! Inspired by the Louisiana town of the same name, Australian trio Opelousas are a double female fronted electrical attack on your senses with a unique swamp-soaked, sometimes dark psychedelic blues sound.

Their debut album Opelousified is a feast of grit and glory and was voted best blues album in 2019 at the Music Victoria awards. Their sound is a roux of Kerri Simpson’s powerful raw vocals, Alison Ferrier’s dirty lead electric guitar and sultry vocal tones, seasoned with Anthony “Shorty” Shortte’s expert swamp-soaked percussion. The rhythms of Opelousas seep right into your bloodstream.

Opelousas was formed by Kerri Simpson in 2018. Kerri and Alison Ferrier had made an album together in 2017, called Bluebirds, along with friends and Melbourne legends Barb Waters and Suzannah Espie. Kerri’s vision for a blues/rock band was born after she heard Ali’s raw electric guitar style. Long-time friend and musical partner, Anthony ‘Shorty’ Shorrte, was the third ingredient to complete their swampy foreboding sound.

The band have wowed audiences throughout venues nationally and also featured on St Kilda Blues Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues.

In 2024 the MIGHTY Opelousas will be launching their new album Opelousafried followed by a national venue tour to celebrate it with appearances at St Kilda Blues Festival, Port Fairy Folk Festival, Aireys Inlet Music Festival.

Opelousas… Bare-boned blues for free-wheeling minds…

Performing iconic songs you love & sharing the stories behind them

International artists /songwriters Eric Bazilian & Tania Doko share more than artistry, song writing and live performing in common – they are forever bonded by their Scandinavian ‘second home’ – Sweden. Both ex pats who married Swedes, their cathartic, creative friendship was born in Stockholm; navigating long, dark winters and making songs together was their refuge and happy place. Although living mostly in their respective home countries today, they stay connected through music, storytelling and of course, Sweden.

And since Eric wants to visit down under, they’re hitting the road together!

It’s been almost 40 years since Eric toured Australia with U.S hit makers The Hooters, fronting his band to the present day, enjoying sell out tours in Europe and the US. Equally as impressive is Eric’s extraordinary accomplishments as a   songwriter, musician and producer – including writing the three-time Grammy nominated ‘One of Us’, creating the unforgettable guitar parts to Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ & ‘Time After Time’, popular releases with Robbie Williams, Billie Myers and cowriting/producing the Double Platinum follow up to Amanda Marshall’s massively successful debut album.

The parallel with Tania Doko is uncanny. Also lead singer of much loved Bachelor Girl (Buses & Trains the most played Australian composition on Oz radio over the last 25 years), the band still boasts frequent bookings on the Oz festival circuit, sharing bills with heavyweights as John Farnham, Icehouse, and Simple Minds (Feb 2024). As a songwriter Tania has made an indelible mark on the contemporary music scene, having co penned Tina Arena’s recent album, as well has contributing to hit records for the Veronica’s, Sheppard, and Taylor Dayne. 2023 saw Tania release her solo EP ‘The Beauty’s in the Broken’ to critical and audience acclaim, the first hypnotic single ‘Harder Now’ taking out a US song writing award.

As the original artists and writers, Eric and Tania will bring you their iconic songs you love and the fascinating stories behind them. Sprinkled in will be more recent creations they cooked up together from dark basements in their near North Pole home of Stockholm.

JOHN SCHUMANN & THE VAGABOND CREW
THURSDAY MAY 2
8PM

John Schumann is proud of “I Was Only 19” but he’s quick to tell you it’s not the only song he’s ever written. He’s been writing, recording and performing songs for over 40 years. It’s the journey of a lifetime.

Back Tracks is a concert set that includes the ‘classics’, of course, but also explores John Schumann’s back catalogue – great album tracks and singles that people love but don’t get to hear live.

Along with ‘19’ and ‘Bali’ etc, these are the songs that define him.

“When I wrote Eyes on Fire, it really struck a chord with ordinary Australians because it told the truth about how our country has outsourced everything. The clever people in the media dismissed it as retro-economics,” John said.

“I wrote For the Children on my last tour with Redgum. I was missing our little boy and I just wanted to be home with him.”

If I Close My Eyes was written as part of the campaign to prevent a five-star hotel being built at Wilpena Pound. It’s a love song to the Flinders Ranges.

“True Game is a reflection on AFL footy. I realised it’s the only sport that has its origins in Australia,” he said. “Every other game is an import.”

Then there’s Graduation Day, described by others as a poignant evocation of the price paid by those who serve on the thin blue line.

“And lots of people don’t know that I recorded a version of Working Class Man. I reckon we might give that one a run too…”

On Every Anzac Day | Anzac Biscuits |  Fade Away | Khe Sahn (Long Tan version) |   A couple from Lawson | When the War is OveR | FIFO Road | Times Like These | Thunder Across the Reef | Borrowed Ground

And more. Songs, stories – and the odd amusing opinion. One night only.
